Our superior molded backshell housings provide exceptional strain relief that may be uncoupled from the connector, and individual pins may be replaced or wiring schematic reconfigured, if necessary. The shield will remain undisturbed, when coupled, to seal against dust, water immersion and electromagnetic interference (EMI). Choose from a range of materials including, brass, aluminum, stainless steel, and plastics.
Nortech’s expertise extends in building custom cables and harness assemblies. Our soldering and crimping capabilities may be performed on all types of connectors including circular, rectangular, D-Sub, and Micro-D. Additionally, we provide custom marking and stamping.
Custom Connectors and Feedthroughs
Nortech designs and produces custom connector and feedthrough solutions utilizing standard or custom contacts. Inserts can be produced in rubber, epoxy, and injection molded materials.
Custom Backshell Design
Nortech will custom design backshells for special needs. Backshells can be designed to incorporate circuit boards, filter arrays, or other electrical components and still be field accessible.

In House Machining and Turning
Nortech manufactures parts in house utilizing CNC machining and turning centers in a fully equipped production machine shop.
3D Printing
Nortech has in house capability for 3D printing prototype and production parts. Materials available include flexible and rigid acrylic polymer in hundreds of colors, ABS, polycarbonate, and Ultem™. Printing capability includes both FDM (fused deposition modeling) and PolyJet. Utilizing this technology Nortech can provide quick turn prototype cable assemblies for fit checks.
